Origin & Formation
Garnets crystallize in metamorphic rocks under regional heat and pressure, growing into the dodecahedral 'garnet' shapes seen in sand and schist alike.
Known origins: India, Sri Lanka, Tanzania (Mandarin), Mozambique, Madagascar

Caring for Your Garnet
Garnet is fairly durable but can be scratched by harder gems. Clean with warm soapy water and avoid ultrasonic cleaners if the stone is fractured or heavily included.
